Our Story

I am a carpenter and entrepreneur from Seinäjoki, whose hands have shaped wood for years. My days have been spent on construction sites, in the workshop, working with machines, and above all, with materials, each of which has its own story.

Visakorut.com was born out of a love for genuine wood and a desire to create something that cannot be mass-produced.

Curly birch is no ordinary wood. Each piece is unique. Its grain, patterns, and lively surface make every piece of jewelry individual. When you hold a piece of jewelry made from curly birch, you hold a small part of Finnish nature that cannot be replicated.

All our jewelry is designed and manufactured in Finland in my own workshop. Every piece of jewelry passes through my hands multiple times before it reaches the customer. I cut, sand, finish, and carefully check every detail.

For me, finishing is not just a work phase – it's a sign of respect for the material.

I aim to create jewelry that feels as good in the hand as it looks on the ears. Light to wear, beautiful to look at, and high-quality enough to last year after year.

In nature, no two trees are alike, and therefore, no two pieces of jewelry are exactly alike.

In a world where many things are produced quickly and as cheaply as possible, I want to do things a little differently. I want to produce products that showcase Finnish craftsmanship, genuine materials, and the maker's pride in their work.
